Newbury Street
Boston Back Bay Shopping – Newbury Street
Located in the Back Bay Architectural District, Newbury Street reveals a charming glimpse of Boston from the mid- to late 19th century, while offering an exquisite selection of international shopping and local boutiques. The first retail shop opened on the street at the turn of the last century. It was in the 1970’s that the street gained prominence as Boston’s premiere shopping destination, which continues to this day.
Newbury Street consists of eight attractive blocks lined with historic buildings, hundreds of retail stores and professional offices, and several churches. On both sides of the street you’ll see breathtaking galleries, luxurious retail storefronts, and intimate bistros and cafes. From internationally renowned designers and luxury brands to the more bohemian establishments, there is hardly a better way to experience the cosmopolitan flavor of Boston than on the sidewalks of Newbury Street.
